EasySampler (ES) Faeces can uncover valuable information as to what's wrong in the stomach, intestines or another part of the gastrointestinal system. The most common reason to test stool is to determine whether a type of bacteria or parasite may be infecting the intestines. Stool samples can also be analyzed for what it contains; for instance test for fat content. Further the fecal occult blood test can be used to diagnose many conditions that cause bleeding in the gastrointestinal system including colorectal cancer and stomach cancer. Unlike most other laboratory tests, stool is normally collected by the patient at home but patients find the collection of stool difficult, unpleasant and unhygienic to perform. More than 50% of the patients take a stool sample directly from the toilet bowl. Learn more ›
EasyDrainer (ED) is an easy-to-use and flushable drainage sleeve for ileostomy patients. People with ileostomies must use a drainable ostomy bag. The bag shall be emptied when about one-third full - which is equivalent to approximately 5-7 times a day. Draining the bag can be both inconvenient and embarrassing particularly in public restrooms that are not totally private, as emptying the content directly down into the toilet water increase the risk for splash back and noise. To solve that problem GPMD has developed ED - a unique, patented and flushable drainage sleeve which eliminates the risk for splash back and soiling the clothes when emptying the bag. EasyDrainer is a Danish invention and both nurses and patients have contributed to the development. Learn more ›
